1. Please briefly introduce yourself and your current job.

I am Tamara Arutyunyants and I have been Head of Business Relations at TRACES - the Transfer Center of the University of Stuttgart - since October 2023. My mission? To connect the university with industry, politics and society by engaging with relevant stakeholders, coordinating inquiries, networking experts and ensuring that we all work together on exciting, innovative projects in research and transfer. Regional, national and international networking as well as sustainable cooperation and strategic partnerships are at the heart of this.

2. What does business relations have to do with transfer?

I believe that a trusting and successful collaboration between universities and business, politics and society plays a major role in knowledge and technology transfer. Good business relations management makes it possible to initiate collaborations and university-industry projects, to organize collaborations professionally and effectively and to have a central partner for university members and external stakeholders at the university.

3. Who can contact you and how do you provide support?

Basically, anyone who has an idea or is simply curious about how they can collaborate and co-innovate with companies, society and the University of Stuttgart can get in touch. This could be our professors who may have an ingenious research idea or our students and doctoral candidates who want to advance their (research) projects in collaboration with companies. Our young scientists who want to bring a breath of fresh air into research and application and network with industry and society are also very welcome.  Alumni are an important part of our community too. Perhaps they would like to use their network to support the university projects or even get involved themselves. And of course we welcome external partners from business and politics who are interested in working with us and benefiting from each other's expertise.

And what can I do specifically? Well, I am the control center, so to speak, for all business relations activities. I coordinate inquiries, analyze needs and interests, present suitable fields of research and opportunities for cooperation with the university and bring the right people together. Whether it's about arranging a contact, initiating a cooperation or even organizing a joint event - I'm there to help and support. So, if you have an idea or just want to talk about how we can work together, please get in touch with me!
