Knowledge Transfer: Paths out of the ivory tower

Universities generate knowledge that has economic, social and political benefits. In addition to teaching and research, it is the task of universities to make this knowledge usable and return it to society.

Creating value with knowledge

An important pillar at TRACES, the Transfer Center of the University of Stuttgart, is the recursive transfer of knowledge between science, society and other stakeholders. We understand the creation of knowledge as a co-creative process that is jointly shaped.

With regard to public outreach, it is also important that socially significant topics find their way into science, that partners from practice are actively involved in the research process and that research results are not only negotiated within the scientific community, but also passed on to experts outside academic institutions, especially to the general public in the context of public discourse.
