NXTGN – Shaping the Next Generation Mittelstand Together

At the heart of NXTGN is a holistic approach: we nurture talent, support startup ideas on their path to implementation, and guide startups through growth. At the same time, we bring companies and academia together through tailored cooperation formats that drive concrete transformation processes.

We also strengthen exchange among university-based startup supporters to accelerate knowledge transfer through entrepreneurship.

The name NXTGN, derived from Next Generation, captures our goal: we aim to foster a new generation of innovative, connected, and socially responsible companies.

Our Goals by 2030:

• 15,000 participants in innovation and startup programs, including 30 % female founders and 10 % international talents
• Over 300 deep-tech startups, supported through targeted engagement with researchers, improved IP transfer, and access to laboratories and production facilities.
• 1,000 effective collaborations between startups and companies with concrete transformation needs.
• 1 billion euros in venture capital mobilized for high-growth, internationally scalable business models.
• 10,000 new jobs – created in and from Baden-Württemberg.

Das Konsortium hinter NXTGN besteht aus dem Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT), der Universität Stuttgart, Universität Heidelberg, Universität Ulm, HdM Stuttgart, dem Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (IPAI) und den Campus Founders. Mit der NXTGN Management GmbH wird der Verbund durch privatwirtschaftliche Anchor Partner und den Anchor VC Mätch VC erweitert. NXTGN fördert Talente im Innovationsbereich und hilft dabei, Gründungsideen zu realisieren sowie Startups zum Wachsen zu bringen. Außerdem unterstützt NXTGN Unternehmen durch maßgeschneiderte Kollaborationsangebote in ihrer nachhaltigen Transformation und bietet eine Plattform für einen gewinnbringenden wissenschaftlichen Transfer durch Gründungen. Zu den Wirtschaft- und Communitypartnern zählen ADS-Tec Industrial IT, Balluff, Festo, Koehler Group, L-Bank, Scharr, Schwarz Digits, Vector Informatik, Baden-Württemberg Stiftung, der VfB Stuttgart, Campus Schwarzwald, die Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) und die Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart als strategische Partner sowie über 30 Unternehmen als Corporate Member.
